Thu, 02/28/2008 - 07:49
The significance of the Delphian lymph node (DLN) in thyroid cancer was examined in patients undergoing total thyroidectomy. The clinical appearance of the DLN is not an accurate indicator of the presence of unsuspected thyroid cancer. On the other hand, metastatic involvement of the DLN is an adverse prognostic marker with a significant correlation between DLN involvement, tumor size, and extensive lateral lymph node metastases.Page: 477DOI: 10.1097/SLA.0b013e31815efdc4Authors: Isaacs, Joseph D.
