Bilezikçi Diagnostic pitfalls in the evaluation of fine needle aspiration cytology of the thyroid: correlation with histopathology in 260 casesObjectives: Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) of the thyroid is a non-invasive, cost-effective screening procedure that is valuable for distinguishing neoplastic lesions from non-neoplastic nodules.

Evaluation of parathyroid gland angiogenesis in chronic kidney disease associated with secondary hyperparathyroidism
Mon, 08/18/2008 - 03:00Background. Secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT) is a common complication of chronic kidney disease. Increased parathyroid hormone (PTH) synthesis and secretion is associated with parathyroid cell hyperplasia. The exact mechanisms involved in parathyroid gland (PTG) hyperplasia are still poorly understood. There is no available data on angiogenesis in PTG of patients with chronic kidney disease and SHPT.
